Terms of use

The short version: the tools are free, your files stay yours and stay on your device, and you should check a result before you rely on it.

By using tab3d you agree to these terms.

Who runs the site

The site at tab3d.com is run by tab3d, its operator. Where these terms say “tab3d”, they mean the site and its operator. You can reach tab3d at hello@tab3d.com.

The tools

tab3d offers tools that open, measure and convert 3D and CAD files, and a calculator for print costs. They are free to use, for private and commercial work alike, without an account.

The tools may change. A tool may be improved, replaced or withdrawn, and the site may be unavailable from time to time.

Your files

Your files remain yours. They are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to tab3d, so tab3d receives no copy of them and claims no rights in them. The same holds for what the tools produce from them. How your files stay private describes this in detail.

You are responsible for having the right to open and convert the files you use here.

Check the result

The tools are provided as they are, without a guarantee that a result is correct or fit for a particular purpose.

Reading and converting CAD formats is not exact in every case. A viewer may draw a file differently from the program that made it, a measurement taken on a mesh may differ slightly from the true surface, and a converted file may lack something the original had. The pages say where such limits are known.

Before you cut material, print a part, order from a supplier or quote a price from a result, check it: open the converted file in the program that will use it, and compare its size with the original. To the extent the law allows, tab3d is not liable for loss or damage that follows from relying on a result, from a tool being unavailable, or from a file a tool could not read.

Using the site fairly

  • Do not try to disrupt the site, overload it or get around its security.
  • Do not present the site or its tools as your own.

Other people’s software and names

Parts of the site are open-source software under their own licenses, listed in the open-source notices. Those licenses apply to those parts.

Names of products, companies and file formats are used to say what a tool works with. They belong to their owners. tab3d is not affiliated with them.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of the place where tab3d is established. If you use the site as a consumer, the rights that the law of your own country gives you, and that an agreement cannot take away, remain yours.

If a part of these terms turns out not to be valid, the rest still applies.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the new version is published on this page with its date. The date of this version is October 2, 2026.
